Well, as I have not given any sign of life for quite a while, here is a short update:
The ceiling and the walls have wallpaper now, and are even painted, only some small corners still need a second coating.
The cork arrived last weekend, the preparations to install it are more or less done, therefore soon we will have a cork floor instead of a concrete one.
I even have some new pictures, but somehow no time to copy them from the camera to the website. Perhaps I have do it at the weekend, but no promise...
Today we removed the last carpets. Now the floor needs to be repaired a bit and afterwards we can start the constructive work. Some impressions:
Well, today is the big day - we are supposed to get the house keys. I'll upload some pictures as soon as we have them.
Edit: Just got the call, we can collect the keys...
Jeder kennt das typische Klischee, daß in England alle Häuser und alle Straßen gleich aussehen. Dies ist zwar nicht ganz der Fall, allerdings gibt es Wohngegenden, die sehr momoton aussehen. Dies liegt vor allem daran, daß Straßenzüge hier oftmals in einem Ritt gebaut werden, alle Häuser auf dieser Straße haben exakt die gleiche Architektur, die einzige Individualität kommt durch eine Gartengestaltung (sofern vorhanden) sowie Änderungen der Besitzer zustande.
